This world has given us a misguided sense of heart. Society, with "Disney" has said, "follow your heart." Well, biblically we should never follow our heart. We as people can be deceived and lead astray. Our hearts cannot be trusted. How many times have you followed your heart into love just to get hurt, followed your heart into a job or something to realize that was not even close to the right thing for your life?
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 24:1
How would you go about finding the right way to lead your heart?
"Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief. Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate."
Only through wise counsel and guidance can you lead your heart into submission and an honorable life. The best and easiest way to have the proper wise counsel is to seek holy counsel. The world has already failed us with this "follow your heart" nonsense. We need to seek godly counsel as God cannot fail us.
God will always have our best interest in mind. God loves us so much he sent his only begotten Son to leave heaven and come to Earth in humanly flesh to to seek and save. The Bible says He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 3:16).
The only way to find godly counsel is to have God in your heart, first and foremost. Apart from that, finding a good Bible believing, Bible preaching pastor to give you guidance and direction on what the Bible would dictate you to do.
You have to open your heart to Jesus to be given the Holy Spirit in order to guide your heart in a biblical and holy sense. I myself have have tried to guide my heart on my own and failed drastically each time. I am learning to let Jesus and the Holy Spirit guide my heart. The problem is that it is much harder than it looks. I am desperately lonely. I want God to be enough for me, but as He himself said, "And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." Genesis 2:18. Some people are born to be alone and serve Jesus as a single person while others are best suited to have that partner in life to serve God with.
In order to not let my heart be deceived and lead astray I must guide my heart with godly counsel. For that I have to stay in the Bible, prayer and be in church every time the doors are open. As it is, my heart is broken and not sure if I could ever fix it on my own. I struggle with sadness on a regular basis for being alone. I miss being married and a parent. My only dream in life is to be married with children.
Well I'll make it, I just have to keep dealing with it.
Please check out my book.
Depression is something that most people experience at one point or another. During this time of life, life can be hard to live. Some people attempt to hide it from others, while others have trouble coping with life situations and have trouble with everyday tasks such as personal self-care.
This book will show how the author had gone through depression for many years and teaches how he allowed his faith in God to conquer that depression in his own life. These teachings are meant to help others overcome their own depression while letting them know they are not alone in their struggle.
