Continuing after you can't go on

Today we face a never heard of before pandemic! No, I am not speaking of Covid-19. The pandemic I am speaking of is the lack of faith in self, government and most importantly God. Times are perilous at the least.

What does any of that have to do with moving forward after you are through? It's simple really. Today is not just filled with a virus going around but also lack of employment, lack of socializing, lack of proper diets and exercise, lack of spiritual well being, and just a sense of lack of over all well being including mental health.

All over the news and social media, you have people speaking of their opinions on matters and protesting and rioting and destroying the country one city at a time. There are people purposely trying to cause havoc and panic in the people, to include politicians (especially on the left side). No, I will not say our president is perfect, but he is doing his best.

There are so many democratic life politicians and liberal citizens blaming him for so much and for not fixing problems in our country. The true problem is these life long politicians that have not fixed these problems in the 30+, 40+, and 50+ years in office, not the president that has only been in office for 3 years with no political experience prior. He is just a man that wanted to make our country great again.

To get into moving forward we have to see why we are stuck. Our country as a whole (though many people don't fall under this) is in a rut of believing everything they see and hear and panic before getting facts from reputable sources that are not being bought by socialistic politicians. We are not standing up for what is right any longer, but what makes us feel good. Our country has lost its Christian roots and no longer, as a whole, live by any morals or values. Instead, the people live for self and nothing else. We can see all over that even a lot of parents live for self and in their care for their children, it is done not of love but of responsibility and desire just to make things work with no sense of care and concern for their fellow man (person). Less and less people go to church, donate to charity and help the old lady carry her bags or open doors for strangers. More and more people are all about what they can get out of a situation.

We are not concerned about what we can do for our country and neighborhood any longer, but what they can do for us. As President John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address on January 20, 1961 says, "And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country."

When we become grateful for what we have and not spiteful for what we don't have, when we are thankful for what our government has provided for us and not what they have done wrong, when we realize how many blessings God has given us and not angry about the things he has not; we will become better equipped to not be stuck in any one situation. We will be able to take things in stride and with a peace in our hearts that only Jesus Christ can give us after we accept him into our hearts after asking for forgiveness of our sins.

When a person has faith in Jesus Christ, everything else will fall into place. We know that no matter the situation, God is in control, and no matter what our government does, they only have power God has given. We may not understand why God allows things to happen, but it is not for us to understand. We only have to realize that everything is for his glory. For example, David was born small and weak, but when he had his faith in God and was able to kill the giant Goliath, he gave all the glory to God and the people knew it was God that did it, because you have this short (probably teenage) boy who killed a 9 foot 9 inch giant with a sling and smooth stone. That very unlikely in a human standpoint. It was all God that did it.

So have faith in yourself as you have faith in Jesus, as he will not guide you down a bad path, just follow him and move forward. No matter what you lack, whether it is food, a job, friendship, good leadership, with the peace from the Holy Spirit (Jesus in your heart for a quick explanation), you can move on and keep going. So many people these days are becoming depressed and suicidal. Only without Jesus can that happen. Those that maintain faith in him and push toward pleasing him cannot stay in an emotional rut.

This I know for a fact out of personal experience as well as my Bible time. No, I'm not adding scripture or pictures to this blog. I'm just sharing my heart... I spent a lifespan (around 32 out of 38 years of my life) hopelessly depressed. I went to tons of counseling and took tons of medications. Nothing helped until I put my faith in Jesus Christ. I was already saved, I had already trusted him for the forgiveness of my sins and for my salvation. The problem is, I had not given him my past, my mental health and my future to him fully. I was still trying to have control and fix myself until recently.

I discuss this in my book "Overcoming Depression Through His Word" (posted below). I share bits of my story and my past. I share things I have learned on what can possibly help a person to not get depressed and to overcome depression. The book may have lots of scripture in it, but even a non-believer can read it and take the scripture, use it as a simple quote and apply it to their lives. Since I have turned my entire being over to God's complete control and let him mold my life through preaching, Bible reading and prayer, I have been able to push forward even after I feel I can't go on, after I'm stuck.

I still get down at times, I still feel stuck at times. The solution is I just go to God in prayer and find scripture that helps me through. The Bible is full of promises from God that will inspire and encourage you. As a Christian, I take the Bible as God's actual word and the only one actual truth that can never change. It can be applied to lives 5,000 years ago, today, and in 5,000 years. God doesn't change with the tides of society. He doesn't change with the tides of morals as they go up and down. He never changes and thus with a living Word, trusting in Jesus will get you through any situation. No he doesn't promise things will be easy; however, he promises to never leave you or forsake you. The Bible says if you get close to him, he will get close to you. Just spend time every day getting to know him, just as if you were getting to know a person here on Earth, and you too can continue after you can't go on!

Depression is something that most people experience at one point or another. During this time of life, life can be hard to live. Some people attempt to hide it from others, while others have trouble coping with life situations and have trouble with everyday tasks such as personal self-care.

This book will show how the author had gone through depression for many years and teaches how he allowed his faith in God to conquer that depression in his own life. These teachings are meant to help others overcome their own depression while letting them know they are not alone in their struggle.
